  • Temperature/Humidity Events - As you know, your PQube records all types of power quality events.  Now you can add temperature and humidity events to the list!  Set over-thresholds and/or under-thresholds, trigger the PQube's relay output, and even receive email notifications!  A big thanks to everyone for their feedback!
  • Choose which emails to receive from your PQube - Reduce your data usage by selecting only the email types (events, trends, or resets) that are important to you.  A big thanks to Texas Instruments (and others) for this idea!
  • User-defined Major Dip Curve - The Major Dip event allows you to trigger voltage dip events based on magnitude and time!  In addition to all of the worldwide standard curves already programmed into the PQube, you can now create your own Major Dip ride-through curve with up to 4 depth duration points.  A big thanks to KONE Elevator for this idea!
  • Adjustable Gain Factors for Potential Transformers - Improve the accuracy of your PQube's measurements when using calibrated potential transformers.  A big thanks to Southern Company for their suggestion!
Remember to tell all of your customers to update their PQubes so they can take advantage of all the new and exciting features!

Use the PQube Configurator Program to demo the PQube to customers and show the advantages over manually editing the setup.ini file. The setup process is much more intuitive, so being familiar with it when working with customers is a great plus. They'll love the convenience!

This program has now also been updated to include the setup parameters for the new PQube 2.1 Firmware.

Synchronize your PQube's time clock - no internet connection required!

If you need to synchronize your PQube's clock to an NTP server but don't have an Internet connection, the TIMENET GPS NTP Time Server is the right solution for you.

Simply connect your PQube's Ethernet module (ETH1 or CTE1) to the time server using an Ethernet cable, place the antenna somewhere it can receive satellite signals, complete the setup configuration, and you're ready to go.

For more detailed instructions, download the application note from

PQube Digital Input Channel - how customers are using it to solve problems

Example Cross-Triggering application using the PQube's digital input channel

As with the PQube's analog inputs, we often find that customers are also unaware of the digital input, and its usefulness in monitoring a wide range of status conditions. Here a just a few applications (and if you have any more that are particularly interesting, we'd love to hear about them):

  • Connected to a fuel-level-low float switch on a diesel backup generator at an airport, to send email notifications when fuel levels get low.
  • Counting beer bottles at a brewery, to get kWh-per-bottle measurement in the PQube.
  • Connected to a magnetic reed switch on an equipment access door, to get an email notification whenever the door is opened (and to be able to check via the web browser if the door is open right now).
  • Connected to a simple thermostat in a remote cellular phone tower, to get an over-temperature alarm and recording.
  • Cross-Triggering; you can use your PQube's digital input channel and relay to trigger, or be triggered by, another PQube. This is particularly useful when monitoring both sides of a UPS and you want an event on one side to also trigger the capturing of data by the PQube on the other side.
  • Gas alarm switch. In some monitoring locations dangerous gases may at times be present. If you are remotely monitoring your PQube, connecting your digital input to a gas detection alarm switch will give you critical information (by the way, has anyone tried connecting a smoke/CO alarm system to a PQube's digital input - there possibly needs to be some interposing relay, but it should be feasible).

Thank you again for your support, and please don't hesitate to contact us with questions or suggestions.
